PURPOSE:
TO PREPARE RUNNERS TO CONFIDENTLY COMPLETE 10K BY DEVELOPING THRESHOLD STRENGTH, HILL POWER, AND CONTROLLED SPEED. THIS PHASE INTRODUCES STRUCTURED WORKOUTS, EFFICIENT PACING, AND MODERATE VOLUME INCREASES THAT LEAD TO MEANINGFUL GAINS IN FITNESS AND RACE READINESS.

PRIMARY GOALS:

  • IMPROVE LACTATE THRESHOLD

  • ADD HILL STRENGTH AND RACE SPECIFIC SPEED

  • INCREASE VOLUME TO RACE-READY LEVELS

  • BUILD CONFIDENCE FOR RUNNING A 10K/HALF PERSONAL BEST

  • PRACTICE PACING AND RACE STRATEGY
